On October 18, 2025, our chapter teamed up with the Avenir Museum for another successful Community Sewing Day! With 19 participants—including six ASG members and 13 community volunteers—we worked together to create scent cloths for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Poudre Valley Hospital. These small pieces of flannel help parents and babies stay connected, even when they can’t be together at home.

Thanks to everyone’s hard work, we made a total of 386 scent cloths! The event drew in a few museum visitors who, inspired by our efforts, decided to join in and help. The Manager of Volunteer Services at PVH was thrilled with the donation and has already approached us about supporting another project for the hospital.

This event is a wonderful example of how our guild gives back to the community and brings people together through sewing. We’re grateful to everyone who participated, donated materials, or helped organize the day.

If you’d like to get involved in future community service projects, please keep an eye on our events calendar or contact our Community Service Chair, Stephanie Rusk.
